About

A private room in a character bungalow on spectacular Birkenhead Point. There's a bus stop at the top of the street. It's just a few minutes walk to the ferry; with a ten minute, five star cruise into Auckland city. Up the hill, you will find great cafes, restaurants, bars and bush walks. At the end of the street there are steps down to Little Shoal Bay where you can swim at high tide. We are so close to the city, yet so peaceful. You wake to bird song.

Good to know

It is a lovely double room near the front door. The bathroom is only a door away. The double room next door is also available to rent. Please contact me if you would like to rent both rooms at the same time.

As I work from home, I expect guests to be respect my work space and environment. Aside from drinks/tea making facilities the kitchen is not included.

Neighborhood

Birkenhead Point is a hidden gem. It is an older character suburb. I have lived here for 20 years as it is close to everything I need. The ferry is only 5 minutes away. and it is walking distance to the harbour and swimming spots, the bush, parks, shops, movies, cafes and restaurants.

Guest Access

The kitchen is not part of the package. Though you are welcome to make yourself tea/coffee. There are a ton of cafes and restaurants within walking distance.

Find us

There is a bus stop at the top of the street - this is for the buses that meet the ferry (see Fullers website for timetable) ... This bus can take you up Hinemoa Street to the Highbury interchange for buses to the city or elsewhere. The Ferry Terminal is few minutes walk down Hinemoa Street. It is a spectacular and regular 10 minute cruise to downtown Auckland where again you can take buses or trains or other Ferries to wherever you want.
